the brief:
You’ve gotta love a brief that goes something like: “Prue we need to have a brainstorming meeting so I can tell you about ‘The Big Idea’ and the flyer I need”. Turns out the client needed more than a flyer – he needed a website and branding, a logo and mail out templates.
Fortunately, I’ve been working with this client for a decade and our parents were besties regularly holidaying together so I know him pretty well. He has two passions; surfing and chiropractic. Its the latter from which ‘Get the Big Idea’ was born.
Get the Big idea is a touring seminar the client presents to fellow chiropractors and their teams sharing his business model on ’New Patient generation’.
The Solution:
While the target audience is the chiropractoric industry, the client is charismatic with an infectious punchy personality and I was keen to express this in the branding rather than the more conservative path typical of health professionals. Being a surfer from way back, I drew on retro surfing colours and the rhomboid shape often used in signage of the same era for the foundations of the logo and brand. Using the classic serifed font Bodoni was a respectful nod to the industry’s fore fathers and the historical nature of the chiropractic profession.

A bold punchy brand reflecting the clients personality and surfing passion, while remaining professional and respectful to the chiropractic industry.
